I am so proud of myself. For my final project in my Revit electronic design class, I had to build a department store entirely from scratch, based off of photographs that I took myself. I had to measure every single detail according to what my eye could see. Having columns and determining how big the tiles on the floor were helped me figure out the square footage. Here is one rendering view of a jewelry section in Saks Fifth Avenue Atlanta on the second floor. I think it came out pretty awesome. Do you like it?!

Uber Feminine
This is my style all the way. I love the color blue in almost any space and you can always glam it up or dress it down. Blue almost can act as a neutral color, working with pretty much anything if you let your imagination run free. It soothes the soul and gives spaces almost and etherial feeling. I love hollywood glam and over the top feminine spaces. Here below are some examples of some spaces that I am in love with. Uber Feminine and just yummy!

Shanghai Expo Pavilions
Every couple of years, the Shanghai World Exposition selects countries from all around the world to build their one of a kind structures and this has been going on since the 1800's. Also known as the "World's Fair", the exposition gives groups of architects and interior designers the freedom to be as creative, innovative and whimsical as possible. The expositions gives the country the opportunity to showcase their technological advances, cultural exchanges, historical experience and the exchanging of innovative ideas. For my Building Construction class, the task is to take a particular exposition that was selected by a lottery, which in my case is the "Canadian Pavilion", research it and to actually build it. These expositions are so amazingly beautiful, but sadly they're only temporary structures and shortly after torn down. Other expositions that I have posted below are the Korean, Polish, and Russian Pavilions. They are unlike anything I've seen before. I am obsessed.

Givenchy
These are images of model's wearing Givenchy's past spring haute couture line. I love it even though I'd probably never wear anything like it. Givenchy took a spin on the kimono and put a futuristic twist on a widely known beautiful part of Japanese culture. The garments are made of several high end fabrics constructed in such a innovative and beautiful way. So sick.

Set Design
Last spring I learned a lot about set design in my studio 4 class. In all honesty I think I love set design more than anything else design related that I've done in the past. For the assignment, the goal was to individually create a made up television show. Student's had free reign and were allowed to be as creative as they wanted to be when coming up with their television segments and the set design that coincided with them. I chose to do a QVC like television show, that would allow SCAD student's or SCAD graduates to present their work and sell it to the public. With my set in particular, since items are being sold, such as clothing from fashion majors, jewelry from jewelry majors, furniture from furniture design majors etc..., the set changes and evolves from show to show. Once items are purchased, they are removed from the stage set and replaced with something new. I wanted the set to reflect SCAD and their student body, which is bohemian, playful, colorful and artsy. I looked a lot to retail spaces for inspiration such as Anthropology. I believe that look and feel was successfully reflected well throughout the space. The TV show I decided to name Shop SCAD Live. I think it's a great idea and maybe one day SCAD will choose to pick up the idea. It gives students a way to get their names out their and also to make money during a time where we all know the economy isn't at it's best.
Here above and below are just some images that inspired me when designing the set. It mostly helped me out with the color palette.
Mood Board Above
Before we could do anything, we first had to build a foam core model that was built to scale. After the models were built, then we digitally took images of the sets and photoshopped everything else onto the image.
Here above is an image of my final set design for Shop SCAD Live. I thought it came out just how I wanted it to. Click on the image to get a closer look :)

Frost
Here below is a snowball stand that I designed created out of a shipping container. The snowball stand would be called "Frost" and located in Uptown, New Orleans. I created this for my studio IV class but in all honesty, I would really love to get this snowball stand made. Maybe I will :)

Blue Plate Lofts
This summer, I am helping my mom with the interior for the new upcoming Blue Plate artists lofts in Uptown, New Orleans. I am so excited to see what we have created come to life in this newly renovated historic space. The space has been completely gutted and they are now in the process of putting up walls, electrical and plumbing. The exterior of the building reminds me of "Bauhaus" style architecture. The interior will be contemporary but with a twist. I am so excited and can't wait to see how it will turn out. Official designing of the space and putting in furniture starts at the beginning of 2012.
Above is a hallway elevation of what the space will look like inside. The client loved the blue doors, but I think we are going with black instead. Here below is just a sneak peak of what some of the furniture and some of the finishes will look like in the actual lofts themselves. It's going to be amazing!

Shipping Container Design
Design has come a very long way, and people are coming up with more innovative and cost effective/efficient ways to create livable and functional spaces. The new growing trend is creating spaces out of actual shipping containers. Seen mainly for retail and street vendor businesses, shipping container design has now begun to be used in hospitality as well. Almost resembling lego's, you can stack them, align them and do almost whatever you want with them. This design trend might not be for everyone but I think it's pretty cool. Below are some images I found for inspiration since my final project for my studio 3 project is mainly using shipping containers. It's something a lot of people haven't seen before and I think people should look into it.

Globalization Project/Exhibit Design
Here are some scenes from my sketchup studio III model. It came out amazing and I think it represents and explains globalization well. The main pop of color in the space is red and I think it adds a dramatic/bold affect to the space. The space is super detailed and full of linear lines. It took forever to model and perfect the floor plan but all in all I think it successfully showed through.
